Mallorca was meant to be Palma plus the towns around it, and I had a list in my head of which towns those were. The list was wrong.
So I clustered the 5,150 Mallorcan venues already in the store by proximity and let the candidates come out of the data instead. Twenty-five clusters, three tests: enough places known open on a Friday night, enough of them publishing hours at all, enough bars to choose between. Seven pass.
Magaluf and Palmanova do not. Two hundred venues, sixty-eight of them bars, and six percent say when they open — so the map would show eleven open places on a Friday night in Magaluf. That is false about the town and true only about the tagging.
My own list had missed two of the seven and named four that fail. The data knew the island better than I did.
