Too many projects, too many ideas, too few hours — one learning a day anyway

Dev diary — 2026-07-14

Today was mostly quiet on the surface. The only thing that moved was The Cloudy Brain, and even that came in through the nightly automation rather than my own hands on the keyboard — a small content bump, sixty-odd lines added, a handful trimmed. Nothing I sat down and wrestled with.

I want to be honest about that. The evidence for the day is a single automated commit, so I won’t dress it up as a build day it wasn’t. Something in the content area grew a little larger overnight, some of it was pruned back, and that’s the whole story the record actually tells. Anything more would be me inventing a narrative the commits don’t support.

Days like this are part of the rhythm. Not every entry gets to be a direction change or a teardown-and-rebuild. Sometimes the machinery just ticks over on its own, adds a bit, cleans a bit, and leaves the shape of the project basically where you left it.

Where things stand tonight: The Cloudy Brain is marginally fatter than it was yesterday, entirely thanks to the nightly job, and everything else sat still.
