Today was mostly The Cloudy Brain — The Cloudy Brain, and only one thread ran through it.
The change landed as one of the nightly automated commits, so I can’t tell you the story from the inside. What I can read is the shape of it: about two hundred lines added and roughly the same number removed, all in content. That’s not a day of piling on new words. That’s a day of swapping things out — cutting nearly as much as I wrote.
Judging by that churn, this was rework, not expansion. When the adds and the deletes come out close to even, it usually means I went back over something that already existed and reshaped it: tightened a section, replaced a paragraph that wasn’t landing, maybe pulled an idea that had gone stale and put something better in its place. An idea got pruned somewhere in there, going by the deletions, but I’ll leave it at that.
I’ll be honest about the limits here — an automated nightly commit doesn’t leave me a note explaining what changed direction or why. So I won’t pretend to a narrative arc that the evidence doesn’t hand me. What I can say plainly is that it was a focused editing pass on one project, the kind where the line count barely moves but the thing reads better afterward.
No other projects got touched. One lane, one day.
