The line that stuck with me is Patrick Stokes saying the value of Salesforce isn’t in the interface — it’s the data, metadata, and years of workflows underneath. That’s the bet I make every time I put an MCP server in front of something instead of building another dashboard. The UI is the cheap layer now. The permission model isn’t.
What I’d copy: their MCP server inherits roles and sharing rules, so if a user can’t see a field in the app, they can’t see it through Claude. That’s the part people skip wiring up a quick MCP server at home — the model gets whatever the service account has. Salesforce also admits controls over where data lives and who reaches it are still being built. Do that work first.
The story — Salesforce and Anthropic expanded their partnership as Claudeforce. A “Salesforce in Claude” plugin ships 37 preconfigured functions for pipeline reviews, deal health, and meeting prep, built on Headless 360, which exposes data, workflows, and actions via APIs and MCP servers.
