Too many projects, too many ideas, too few hours — one learning a day anyway

Dev diary — 2026-10-10

Today was mostly about Foreman, the autonomous runner that drives my agents, and its real story is a day spent cleaning up after itself. Its engine cleanup had a bug, and I fixed it. Now it stops only engines whose own command line carries that run’s session id, and it prints no kill advice without that match. It also had a rule that refused work for a grape wine project, which turned out to block real wine. I reverted that block, then dropped it for good, and the test fixtures now use a generic example.

A Wine App had the heaviest rework: fourteen commits that cut the one-page-per-wine forks from 790 pages to 57. It shipped TestFlight builds 209 and 210. In another repo, the work was mostly ledger housekeeping.

Smaller passes on The Cloudy Brain, which retired its AI broker in favour of one provider, Hermes Phone, mostly cleanup, and hindsight-docker, a small change, plus Sodalis, which built two scripts and removed them the same day.

Where things stand tonight: Foreman now stops only engines whose command line carries its own session id, and the wine app sits on build 210.
