Two arcs owned today: decisions on cityheatmap, and a screenshot fight on the site.
cityheatmap ate the morning. I sat down and closed three of five open design decisions, and the repo got rewritten around them: the heat map shows facts only, heat means deviation from a venue’s own normal rather than absolute level, and one whole signal got dropped outright — deleting it beat anonymising it. The end product is two screens, a shortlist and an explorer, and that rule is now written where every agent reads it. Underneath, the pipeline widened to all of Europe and was proven end to end on the Denmark extract. A massive rework day there, adds and deletes both huge.
Foreman got the lesson from that: a worker had touched cityheatmap knowing nothing about it, because briefing depended on me remembering to write a prompt. Now the project’s purpose gets injected into every worker automatically. Habit replaced by mechanism.
On The Cloudy Brain, the project pages grew screenshots — and the first layout was shit. Not the images; the page around them. I had three genuinely different treatments built, picked one on sight, then pushed it further: captures now carry a focus rectangle so crops and zooms open on the part that matters. Havnetryk and Sightglass dossiers got their shots, and the build now refuses copy that calls itself a draft.
Boat stack, all small but satisfying: Maracaibo’s refill declaration moved fully onto MQTT — maracaibo-camtank speaks it both ways now, the Maracaibo dashboard button follows, and a bridge plugin is retired. Caught a feedback loop before it shipped. maracaibo-charts finally explained a chart build that ate 20+ hours: not a hang, a quadratic union — now three minutes. The SignalK Alpicool plugin learned to self-heal stale Bluetooth connections, the SignalK DMI plugin got an honesty fix in its changelog, Foreman again for the docs, and Havnetryk’s nightly export now actually pushes. The ideas ledger absorbed forty-five entries of all this.
Tonight: two cityheatmap decisions still open, everything else moving.
